Morfeo

  • Morpheus, is another artwork that comes from a sketch made with the blind contour technique. Like the Mad Hatter, inspiration comes from a temporary exhibition. There are many steps before reaching the final composition. In short, Morpheus is a sort of fallen angel who protects, under his wings, the sleep of these three creatures, or children if you like, who for me represent the past, present and future. Between the legs an hourglass with time that passes but is also crystallized. Like in a dream. As in the dream of the Lord of dreams.
In this series I explore the human possibilities of some characters from classic and modern fairy tales with new interpretations. The paintings in this gallery are mostly oils on different supports such as canvas and wood, in different sizes and prices. Each of these works take inspiration from my Urban Sketches, and then evolve into several elaborate compositions enriched with colours, characters or elements of the fairy tale universe. Each work is certified with my signature on the back of the painting.
