Kambo

£100,00Price
  • Kambo is a poison used as a traditional medicine in purging or cleansing rituals, primarily in South America. It is a waxy substance collected by scraping the skin of an Amazonian tree frog, Phyllomedusa bicolor. At a kambo ceremony, the top layer of skin on the arm or leg is blistered in several places with a hot stick and small amounts of kambo are applied to the open wounds.
Indigenous people have used kambo for centuries to heal and cleanse the body by strengthening its natural defenses and warding off bad luck. It was also believed to increase stamina and hunting skills.
These days shamans and naturopathic practitioners still use it for cleansing the body of toxins, as well as treating numerous health conditions.
However, Kambo causes a range of unpleasant side effects🤦🏼‍♂️, not for everyone...
The drawing is my vision about it.

This is a particular series to which I am personally linked. It expresses in image personal and non-personal experiences of some medicines and psychedelic drugs that surely many of you have tried or in any case heard of at least once. Imagination here has no limits. Performed in 2 or 4 hours, the work begins with a simple drawing that outlines its composition with HB pencil, super light. Inking follows with a Japanese brush or with a fine-line pen. All the works are signed and certified.
