Inspiration
Inspired by a sculpture of the Madonna in the magnificent Sacro Monte of Varallo which is made up of 44 chapels and a basilica: it appears like a real fortified citadel surrounded by walls and marked by streets, squares, buildings and gardens. I invite you to visit it.
It is called inspiration, in which here I represent a woman, or man, who prays and holds a light bulb in her clasped hands, or a light bulb man, as in Mickey Mouse's drawings, Archimedes' animated light bulb. For me it is the prayer of the artist or the human being who prays to never lose inspiration.
This is a series of oil paintings, mostly in black and white. They arise from sketches made around the city, museums and from photographic image research. Made with technique ¨Blind Contour Drawing¨, Umanoidi is a sincere mirror of how I see the metropolitan world wrapped in a darkness that is illuminated only by the human figure.
