Compianto al Cristo Morto
This large-format painting is the representation with the Blind contour technique of a statue, or rather a composition found in Palazzo Madama in Turin, where the mourning of the dead Christ is represented. It is a very beautiful sculpture from the 1500s. Before making the painting I visited the museum at least 10 times. Here you can also see the final sketch from which I started the painting.
This is a series of oil paintings, mostly in black and white. They arise from sketches made around the city, museums and from photographic image research. Made with technique ¨Blind Contour Drawing¨, Umanoidi is a sincere mirror of how I see the metropolitan world wrapped in a darkness that is illuminated only by the human figure.
